One-Year Master's Degree

Since 2007, Sweden is following the integration of the Bologna process, meant to standardize higher education though Europe and foster the quality of education. One study option is the one-year Master's (called magisterexamen in Swedish), totalling 60 ECTS credits. The one year option is an option includes advanced courses and thesis writing. This option differs from the two-year program by containing less courses.

The one-year masters in Economics at Dalarna University provides both analytical and practical tools at the advanced level on public and pivate policy. This program is particularly focused on microeconomic analysis and quantitative methods.

Master's in Applied Statistics (1 year, 60 ECTS) @ Dalarna University

Master's Programme in Statistics at Dalarna University is intended for students who wish to work as applied statisticians or who intend to proceed to PhD-programs in Statistics. Upon completion of the program, the student in applied statistics will be ready for work as a statistician in several areas, e.g. administration, pharmaceutical industry, consultancy and applied research and statistical institutes. The student who wishes to proceed to international PhD-programs will have covered courses equivalent to first semester PhD-education.

Master's in Health and Environmental Economics (1 year, 60 ECTS) @ Örebro University

The programme objective is for students to acquire the knowledge offered on the advanced level in economics, combined with an opportunity to practise independent and critical analysis based on scientific principles, both of which are required for working as a health and/or environmental economist.
